WebTitanium dioxide (TiO2) is the most frequently studied semiconducting material for photocatalytic water splitting. One of the favored forms of TiO2 for photocatalytic applications is layers of erected single-crystalline anatase nanosheets (NSs), while the most frequently reported substrate used for its synthesis is a fluorine-doped tin oxide (FTO). WebIt is known that doping increases the photocatalytic activity of TiO 2 upon irradiation with visible light. The nature of the dopant ion also affects this activity since the dopants can be interstitial, substitutional, or both in the case of incorporation. Different locations have a different effect on the properties of titanium dioxide.
WebAug 24, 2016 · It is widely accepted that the degradation of pollutants in water proceeds by oxidation either reacting directly with generated holes or indirectly with OH free radicals [ 19, 20 ]. Moreover, the photocatalytic activity of TiO 2 is often dependent on the nature and density of surface defect sites. WebApr 28, 2015 · The photocatalytic activity of the fluorine-modified catalysts was found to be greatly affected by the fluorine position in TiO 2 nanoparticles. When TiF 4 and Ti (OEt) 4 hydrolyzed with synchronization, the fluorine tended to be doped in the lattice.
