Web8 sep. 2013 · ground the wire from the oil temp sensor (on the 450 its on the bottom of the motor) with the key on .....the fan should come on ....if it does then you know that the fan controle unit (fcu) and fan are good if it doesn't come on then hook 2 jumper wires from the battery to the fan ....if it works fan is good and the fcu is bad (about $150) . so …

Web30 mei 2010 · I have a 2003 Honda Foreman 450 and the cooling fan will not come on. I rode it during the winter and fan came on. Now its 85 outside and my engine is getting extremely hot. It feels like plastic body is getting ready to melt off. I checked fuses. All good. The fan blade will turn by hand very easily. But it will not activate when engine is hot. Web27 jan. 2010 · I do not think I ever saw the fan come on when they were stock. I have raced in over 100 degree weather and not seen the fan come on, the cooling sytem works pretty good as long as you are moving and have air going through the radiator. As redfour504life said, the bike has to be running for the fan to come on since there is no battery.

So if the light is coming on then the engine is getting too hot. The fan may not be working or the cooler could be clogged. I've got two 500 foremans and they've got two oil coolers one high and one in front of the fan.
Web11 sep. 2015 · yes I agree, if FAN works and OIL temp switch is good all that's left is the fan control unit two fixes here, replace the fan control unit, or hard wire a ON/OFF switch for fan and use it as wanted !
